I have a 94 6.5 and currently running a 4in. exhaust straight piped and a new intake system. the other day i noticed it started smoking pretty good and didnt hear the turbo anymore. i beleive the turbo could have seized, i was hoping to get some news and some knowledge on the subject.

First if you think the turbo is seized take the intake off and look at it, feel if there is any shaft play, or if it rotates freely if at all. You can run the engine with the air box off for a few minutes to see if it spools up.
Another thing to look into is the waste gate. When the engine is of it should be relaxed but when it starts it should pull tight closed (forward).
If the waste gate isn't working probably it could be a number of things.
(1) the waste gate actuator
(2) the waste gate solenoid
(3) the vacuum pump
Might not be even close to the answer but at least its a place to start looking.

i doubt your turbo seized. most turbos go out with a bang and take the engine with them. most likely it is your waste gate actuator or a vacume line developed a hole.
