I have a 1994 k2500 w/ NV4500 trans freshly rebuilt(total) by a reputable co. Problem was and is a grind going into 3rd gear up or down. After several tries in and out it was decided it has to be the shifter trying to catch 2 gears at once. Since my shifter is semi sloppy, I decided to replace or rebuild it. Question is does anyone sell a rebush kit for this or am I relegated to buying a new shifter from Chevy? Thanks for the help. Dan

Hmmmm.... That exact symptom was a syncro in my 95 5spd. If I remember correctly, the syncros are nylon. I had to dbl clutch 3rd for a long time before it finally grenaded. Even after my overhaul 3rd was 'rougher' than I thought it ought to be. Of course, I have since sold the truck in favor of my 97 K3500 Crew. Don't know about the bushing kit.

Sounds like a bad syncro to me as well. Did you contact the party that rebuilt this?? My flatbed has the NV4500 and it was rebuilt as well. Bearings and syncros are weak links it appears.

Yeah, We had the trans out twice and they checked it over. I know when the pressure plate went in it the wife was really reefing on the shifter to get it into gear. I am really wondering if she bent the piece that the shifter screws onto.
