I have my flatbed into the local VoTech to have it redone.
I was expecting to put in bearings, syncros, seals and such.
But................ They called today and told me I need a new
main shaft, new input shaft, and new 5th gear.
In addition they recommend a new clutch set.
Any leads on hard parts at a good price???

I'm not sure about sources of parts for you, but wherever you do get parts make sure that you get quality parts. And quality parts don't always cost more.
Last spring I went to a small shop on a recomendation to have some clutch work done. My slave cylinder wasn't performing right. While they had it apart I had them replace the clutch and pressure plate too. They were also supposed to have the flywheel surfaced. Well, in July while in Grand Junction CO. with a 11.5 ft slide in camper on my truck and a 10 ft enclosed trainer, my clutch went out. It worked, it just wouldn't disengage. After some diagnostic work on my own, I discovered that it was nothing that I could fix on the road. So I drove it home without the clutch, up and over the 11,000 ft pass and all the way back to Minnesota.
At another shop at home, we discovered that the first shop (that's under new ownwership) had put in a generic "made in China" clutch pack and didn't resurface the flywheel. The whole center part of the friction disc had broken out and caused vibration on the transmission and transfer case. That ended up ruining the input, output shafts on both the tranny and transfer case. The rebuild of the tranny and transfer case cost about $1200 and about another $900 for a LUK clutch, pressure plate and flywheel. Then I had to pay for the labor to have it all put in. I don't have the facilities here at home to do such work. Especially in the winter.
Anyhow no matter how you go about it, make sure you use quality parts. There wasn't much difference in price btween the chinese clutch and the LUK. Although I was told on ths forum that LUK clutches are no good either. That may be so, but it has to be better than the chinese one. (hopefully)
