Does anybody see any reason why i shouldn't cannibalize my perfectly good gm-4 waste gate actuator to create a turbo master?
I'm completely capable of fabricating a mount for it myself, this just seems easier since the hard part is done already. Are these waste gate actuators worth enough on the open market to justify selling/trading it and making the mount from scratch? I hear the waste gate actuators are over $100 from the dealer.

My opinion about the change ? If it ain't broke - don't fix it !

I don't a computer this is a 6.5 turbo grafted onto a mechanical pump 6.2, I need a computer to run the waste gate actuator. I need to run the mechanical setup to control my turbo or else it wont work. It's still in good shape, I just cant use it. Any body need a cheap replacement?

You can get a standard pressure controlled wastegate from ebay for $50. You will probably have to weld the mounting tab from your existing gate to the new one. Most of the ones they sell are set from 8-10psi.
I have the same issue as you do on my truck, and I am putting a standard 8psi actuator on it with a boost controller to pump pressure up a tad. You can get the manual boost controllers for about $15 as well on ebay.
I run the little controller on my pulling tractor and it works great. I just have not had time to fit it to the truck yet.

I went to home depot this weekend and this is what I made. Since i don't have fenders on my rig this is probably the best picture you'll find of one anywhere.
BTW, I really whomped on the engine this weekend and The turbo started squirting out oil :-/ I got it used and it needs to be rebuilt anyway.
I also crapped up my transfer case or trans, but im replacing that with a manual and np205 soon anyway...

I just eyeballed it, I don't know if the spring rate is right but I bought a few to play around with it.
Supplies I used:
Stanly steel corner bracket
1/4-20 Threaded rod ~1ft
1/4 Fender Washer
1/4 regular Washer
1/4 Nylon Lock Nut
12lb capacity spring.
6lb capacity spring.
It all cost about $10
I heated the rod up with a torch to bend it (otherwise if you don't heat it it will break), then used a 3" hole saw to notch the bracket around the turbo hosing on a drill press. Drilled holes to mount it by matching it up with the vacuum actuator I took off and another for the rod to slip though.
I might grind down the threads on the rod because it catches a little...
