It has 144,000. Just got it. It does the same things as everybody else's. Sluggish, hard start, dies, misses.
I've had it about 2 months and replaced fuel filter, oil pressure switch, assist pump, and added fsd with cooler. Still not better. Sitting dead in my driveway.
Now what? Injection pump and injectors???

also just got a 94 dually dump body w/57000 miles, had hard start, had low oil press when purchased, changed out ops cured low oil press, changed dirty fuel filter, still had hard start but started little better, when it got really cold out it then went dead from hard start, found the thin wire 10ga with fuselink going to starter from pass side pos batt terminal was burnt from engine block just before starter, that was changed out, found rubber fill hose at fuel cap was loose and sucking air, tightened the hose clamps, changed side mount stacked batt cables to post style with marine terminal with stud, changed out all 2 ga pos wires to marine grade 2/0 wires with lug connections to include cable to starter coated with dielectric grease and ends sealed with heat shrink tube, lug connections on ends of 2/0 cables put onto converted batt post marine terminal stud. changed out starter while doing cables, went with a thicker ga wire from altenator to drv side pos batt terminal, put in new SSD glow plugs and connectors, put in new low press fuel lift pump. also found my block heater was bad and was changed out, spins right over now, runs steady and strong but it is no jack rabbit. for now the rest is all stock,

When I took it to a local diesel shop about a week ago, the only code they said it had was for the waste gate. They did say that the inj. pump was just out of 'specs'.

144?? Not so. I have the original paperwork when the original owner took this truck in 6 different times for similar problems. The paperwork shows a Chevy engineer coming down to look at it. They replaced everything but the lug nuts.
Wish I'd seen that paperwork before I bought it. Live and learn.

maybe just bad waste gate solinoid, check SSD products list, or disconnected vacum hose or cracked hose, could be cheap easy fix
