Anyone interested in a bunch of old 6.2 parts? I have a barn full of intakes, heads, etc. and one pretty complete long block. It has been rebuilt (not sure what all is new, Dad built it before he passed) but all the bolt holes are full of dirt daubers.

Are you giving this stuff away for free? Because I could very well be interested in most of it ;) Would be good for me to put the motor the rest of the way togeather and could replace my motor maybe, lemme know :)!

Where are you? I'd be interested but this stuff would be expensive to ship.

No, I don't plan to give it away. If nothing else it is worth what it weighs at the local scrap metal yard.
I am in NE Texas just outside of Texarkana.

I haven't inventoried all the parts yet, but I know there is one good block, a couple sets of heads and various brackets, vacuum pumps, pulleys, and maybe a couple of good intakes.
Oh, I also have a 425 Caddillac motor and TH400 tranny.

Do you have any Trannys laying around?

I might have an old 700R4 lying about. I 'll have to "inventory" the parts and see. I know I have a TH400 attached to a 425 Caddillac engine. Would that be the same as a Chevy big block?

No, different blocks, completely, but same GM bell housing bolt patern. Know several guys up here in Nebraska that put an Edelbrock hi-rise manifold on Caddy 500's and dropped them into their Chey 3500 pickups for some serious low-end balls to tow with. This was before 6.5 TD's came out, and the 6.2 just didn't have the oomph to pull a loaded six-horse trailer in a K3500 Crew. Also, gas was only $0.85 a gallon back then.

Husker, that's what I meant; the bolt pattern on the bell housing. It has always sort of amazed at the number of parts that are different between the different GM "entities" and the number of parts that are shared. I guess if they didn't each do SOMETHING different we could just have a red car factory, a blue car factory, etc.
Oh, and I haven't found the 700R4 that was behind the 6.2 in my 84 GMC, but I have a couple more places to look.

Back in the old days GM had 2 bell housing bolt patterns. The Chevy SB, BB. I6, 6.2/6.5, and the other bolt pattern for everything else Caddy, Olds. Buick, Pontiac when they had there own engines!!
