gauges fluctuating

new to the site, i have a 94 3500 ext.cab w/6.5l diesel. driving home the other day and notcied temp gauge never got above 160, alt gauge and fuel gauge started fluctuating. could this be a ground issue or bad cluster? need help please?

Go for the cheapest solution first. It does sound like a ground problem. Double check the wires comming out of the cluster and make sure the ground is good. Second thing to look at might be the cluster itself.

and after that, try the plug that wires everything into the back of the panel, don't know where it is on the 94 luckly, but it drove me nuts on the 82. If you can reach behind, move things to see if the guages go mad. The contacts are paper thin copper glued to some plastic. I had the whole panel out many times and used lots of super glue, and in the end won. Good luck.
