Hello All,

Just got the truck back yesterday from the tranny rebuild:D .Almost$1,800:eek: .But it seems to be 100% now.Stoped at Taco-bell and ate when we can back out it took forever to get it to start.I put a new glowplug controller on it,but it was still warm.It done this once before, just cooled down and fired right back up???My first diesel..so still learning...may-be injectors???
By the way 1993 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 4L80E and no codes.

Thanks Tom K.

I think, i remember something about the manual IP, that there was a "problem" with the fuel return line and a rubber gasket inside the pump. After engine running and shut down, it was hard to start, because of air in the fuel line, because of this gasket, the fuel runs back to the tank and then gets air in the line.

I hope sombody knows more about this problem and can explain it better as mine, because i'm german and i only heard about these things from people how drove th K30 6,2l diesel ex-army pickups, but the IP must be the same to yours.

My 82 developed this problem and in the end was almost imposible to start, but got it going using glow plug over ride. Eventually I noticed the engine was turning slow. The problem first time was dried out starter bearings and the second, worn out starter brushes, both times causing high current drain, and I think it caused the run solenoid to stay closed for lack of voltage. Must add that both problems caused only hot start difficulty.
