Nightmare to say the least.
No start, no lights on the dash, found issue with Ignition switch after removing plastic around column, and plastic cover below ignition switch, pushed on wires and got my dash lights / gages back. Truck started, then ran into issues with battery connections, fixed all of them, Started great, went to fire it up today, no solenoid power at the starter, turn on ignition and cross the solenoid and it starts no problem, checked ignition switch (still exposed and get power on the yellow wire when I try to turn it over. Checked connections on starter and everything is good. I’m alone so I can’t check for power at the solenoid when turning it over at the moment.
Is there a relay between the ignition and the starter?
Any other known issues around this?
Also I have not resolved my ignition switch issues; I still need to press on the wire block below the switch some times to make it connect. Is this the ignition switch itself?
Thanks for replies

Ignition switch is fairly inexpensive and not all that hard to replace. I would just go ahead and replace it. Most likely it will fix the problem. If not, at least you rule it out of the problem chain. I would take a very close look at the plugs that hook to the switch too.

Have you simply cleaned your battery terminals?? I went nuts for months when my truck would decide to not start...no click nothing. Swapped a starter for no reason, but I guess you can say its maintenance. The relay for the ignition when you find it shoud "click" when engaged no click, no worky.

Definitely not a Battery issue, the connections are as good as they can get, new washers and all. When the issue arises, simply grabbing the plug that connects to the bottom if the ignition switch and wiggling it allow me to restart the truck (you see the dash lights come back on when wiggling the plug. Just not sure if it is the plug / wiring harness or the switch itself. No returns on electrical parts from the dealer, just wondering if someone else went through this scenario.
Thanks Guys….

It was the switch
As i found doing much research on other sites This is a known issue.

AC Delco D1414D Ignition Switch
This is NOT the key tumbler part but the actual switch below it
by pushing on the wire block it makes the connections in the switch it-self
crappy design but an easy fix. The parts lists at over $200.00 but if you shop around you can find the delco part for under$150.00
