Has anyone used a "paint-on" bedliner such as Herculiner? Is it really as good as a "spray-on" liner such as Rhinoliner? I was thinking about using a paint-on liner on some of my suspension parts and common rust areas on the body (around the bottom edge from the bottom of the sheet metal up approx 2 inches, under bed and in bed/tailgate).

I've never heard about this paint on stuff, but if a product existed to try and stop rust at the cab corners and wheel wells, that would be a godsend.
I have a 87 golf, the previous owner accedentally drove through wet yellow lines for a long period, and the area where the paint is has not rusted at all, Its awsome, maybe this paint on bedliner stuff would do the same.

I was hoping to find something similar since it's so expensive to have it sprayed on profesioanlly.

Check out www.herculiner.com. I wonder if their product is as good as it sounds.

I used some paint on bedliner in the bed of a JD Gator and it seems to be working good. I originally got it to use on my pickup, but never got around to doing that. My pickup bed is alread beat up so much I didn't see the point.

I Herculinered my 2002 Jeep Wrangler TJ. I would definitely recomend it. I wouldn't say its as good as rhino line or line-x but it's pretty dam close and worth the money you'd save by doing it yourself.

Rustoleum makes a product similar to rhino lining, they sell it in quarts, etc. Not sure of the price I think 40-50$ per quart can. Then you have to have an HVLP to apply it, thinners etc. Its just an elastomeric topcoat, not any brilliant technology there, been around for years. As far as rust inhibitors....ANY rustoleum spray paint will work, they sell kits for removing rust without destroying the metal underneath. Go to a paint store...NOT home depot those guys are morons, and if they can answer your questions ask to speak to a sales rep.
