the truck won't start, glow plug light on dash does not even light up when
you turn the key. Truck will crank, but does not even begin to fire.
I replaced the glow plug relay, did not affect anything. Also replaced two
sensors.( coolant sensor that comes off the manifold right/front side of engine
and the coolant sensor on left side of block. (someone suggested that, but it didn't seem to do anything. Truck ran and started two days ago, won't now.
Any suggestions?
thanks

Check your fuses there is a 20 amp fuse for the glow plug circuit. Not sure which one it is but it should be in the fuse panel. Good luck

yea, I checked and replaced fuses, it has a 10 amp fuse for the glow plugs
and I replaced it just in case, the old one didn't look bad. I just tried to get some computer codes out of it and it doesn't do any coding at all.

My book shows 2 fuses for the glow system a 10 amp and a 20 amp check for the 20 amp. Here we go!! The single heavy red wire term should be 12v all the time. The double heavy red wire term is to the glow plugs should be hot 12v when you hear the relay click on. If no voltage the relay is bad, Pin A battery voltage, key in run position, all the time ( this is feed by the 20 amp fuse ). Pin B 12 volts from the ECM when glow heat is called for. Pin C direct continutiy to engine ground. pinsD&E are not used. IF there is no voltage at pin B check the ECM fuses or the ECM could be bad. I just thought of one other thing. On the water manifold/ t/stat housing is a temp sender this is for the ECM it could be bad and it is telling the ECM the engine is hot and does not need the glow heat. Easy test unplug it and try starting it, unpluged the ECM thinks it is stone cold and it will glow for a long time. The single heavy red wire is protected by a fuseable link. Try this out and let me know Good Luck!!

I checked the fuses, the ones in the cab(no glow plug fuse), the one under the hood is labeled (glow plug< 10 amp). Fuse is good. Replaced sensor up on manifold, and disconnected to test, no change either way. Where would the fuse be for the ECM. I looked around it and did not see any fuses, is it inside?
Going to get a voltage tester for the relay, but I did replace the relay with new.
thanks for all your ideas.

Also, I tried to get computer codes out of truck, as instructed by this site,
and got no flashes period. Would that indicate that computer may be bad?
thanks

Hey, got running, turned out the ground on the relay switch was not grounded very well, accidentally moved the ground and the relay started to
click. Learned a little while checking it out though. Thanks
for the help.
