Where dose the sensor mount?? A friend says it should be before the turbo.?

That means I'll have to drill a hole in the Manifold???!?!?!?!

Got any pics of that location??!?!? I just want to see how you guys have them mounted.

I was orginally thinking it needed to be in the cross over pipe.. or After the Turbo.

Pre turbo... I mounted all mine just below the turbo on the out side of the manifold. You work through the wheel well. About 2"/3" below the turbo is a little flat spot bulging out of the manifold that's where I drilled mine in. The inner fender is in the way so I just used a long drill and went through the inner fender then into the manifold, After you tap drill the manifold you open the hole up to put a 3/8 drive extension to turn the tap. You drill and tap with the engine running and it blows all the chips out It's easy to do no big deal!! Have Fun and Good Luck!!!

There is also a little flat spot on the engine side (top) of the manifold too. It can be reached, drilled and tapped from the top. I'll try get a pix posted. I also use a thick grease, like lard or wheel bearing grease on the tap to catch the metal chips.

I was able to do it with the turbo in place, without much difficulty.

The picture shows it off the truck, but you can install the probe in this way SIXNICKEL mentioned.

If you have the turbo off, it is a little bit easier to drill, because of no heat from idling and no problem to catch the chips out, but it is not a great thing to remove the turbo. In my opinion you should do it with the turbo inside.

Well, I got my gauge sending unit installed yesterday. Easy job.. I took some pictures with my camera phone so that others that may have this question can see. I installed mine the way that SixNickel described.

Thanks for the help.

I routed my wire that connects to the sensor through that loom holder on the left hand side of the picture when I was done.

All pictures were taken looking through the Passenger Side Fender Well. Sorry I don't have any of the process.
