Brainstorming with a friend the other night and came up with a plan for more and cooler air for my 94 K2500. Shroud the intake I got from Walt and make a box alll the way to the outside fender. Cu:confused: t the body and install a louver on the fender(kinda like the forced air vent in your home heating sys). Several questions come to mind. Do I face the louvers front or back? How about icing and rain? Any thoughts would be appurciated. Thanks. Dan

Be careful where the louvers are, they must be open facing forward, but if they are near the front, there will be suction and turbulence from the air coming around from the front of the vehicle. Try attaching a tube to various locations and run to a guage inside. Keep the windows up and the vent system off and go for a drive. I found a slight pressure (approx 1/16 Lb) in the engine compartment at 70 mph and a vacuum of 1/4 Lb in the std filter box with snorkel at 70mph full throttle.

well i drive truck for a living and on some big trucks they have big air cleaners that are on the out side of the truck and the snow ice rain is no problem others have vents in the side of the hood and drivers put after market scoops on that face forward and they have no problem so its up to you has how you do it
