I haven't really been tofar into my engine yet since I've had it. How hard would it be to do Valve cover gaskets without taking the injector lines off?

Is it even possible to do the gaskets with the lines in place??

Hate to burst your bubble, but no, you HAVE to REMOVE the injector lines. DO NOT attempt to bend them back out of the way, they have a coating inside of them that will flake off and plug your injectors ($$)!

Hope this helps.

When you do the valve covers, you do not need gaskets. Good grey silicone works very good by itself. IP lines and intake manifold must come off. Good time to put a few bucks into fuel hoses, Murphy will make them leak right after you have it running otherwise. When you have the valve covers off, check the rocker arm retainers, nylon/plastic parts that do not like engine heat. Take a good look at valve springs too.

I second TedReminder, with one amendment. Permatex has a RTV called " The Right Stuff " This is what they use at the factory it is the only thing to use on valve covers and oil pans!! This stuff is thicker than regular RTV and it comes in a "Wiz" can ( like cheese wiz) If you want a 6.2/6.2 to leak oil use gaskets. If you want a non leaker use The Right Stuff on the oil pan, valve covers. timing cover to block, believe me I learned the hard way!!!
Experience ia a whole bunch of mistakes!!!

I'm with you guys, just keep in mind that the right amount of sealer is an exact amount.I'm talking about the hundreds of oil analysis results I've reviewed that read like the msds for permatex, etc.. Don't apply the sealer like frosting on a cake, a little dab will dooya. There are chemicals in that stuff just dying to wreak havoc on your oil and your engine.Use it with confidence just don't use too much. Hey Sixnickel, you is one fart smeller, oops, I mean smart feller.:D
