What year/make? Tranny? What gear pulling in? How heavy a load? What, if any, upgrades to vehicle? Were you "black smoking" for a prolonged period prior to overheating? What was the reading on your temp gauge? Ambient temp? Just for starters.

Not to be an ass, but without a basis to start with it is more difficult to help you with your problem. There could be one or a combination of several interacting factors to cause your overheating. Pre 97's had a weak waterpump that didn't flow sufficiently and would often times cause overheating, for example. Many times it is multiple factors that cause it, and each needs to be addressed.
