In this month's (June 07) Diesel Power they have an article on MTV's Pimp My Ride where they took a '65 Impala and dropped a Duramax and Allison into it. The D-Max was just "mildly" perfed to 800HP and 1,400 lb/ft. With some careful reprogramming, they were able to get the ECM to talk to Aftermarket electronic gauges, thus bypassing the neccessity of transplanting a D-Max dashboard into the Impala. Stand-alone engine management is around the corner, folks, for the D-Max.
