Well, I'm gonna bite the bullet and ask.
What would be the disadvantage to rebuilding my own injectors with these tips.

I would love to go all out and buy brand new Marine injectors but as aways money is the issue, and what I can save could go to other fun parts.

I'm guessing that you would have to check spring pressure and tolerances and such...Just wondering if its feasible or am I robbin Peter to pay Paul as they say?

I would guess that unless you're experienced, have the tools and test equipment to do the injector rebuild yourself, I'd spend the $500 and be done. And probably be money ahead.

I know what you're sayin. I fired an e-mail off to the guy selling the tips asking the same question. He has really good feedback on Ebay so right now I'm waiting for a response.
I just like to do whatever I can myself. If it means spendin a couple of nights in the garage tinkerin it also means I have that much more to buy a new exhaust or chip.

Not a good idea. Yes, you could just "swap nozzles", but that is a major mistake. Your injectors leak for two reasons, needle/seat wear and failing springs.

Unless you have the specialized bench equipment and training that a diesel shop that rebuilds injectors and IP's has to check and adjust spring rates, rebuild bodies, and pressure test the completed injector for proper atomization, pattern and opening pressures, DON'T EVEN CONSIDER IT!

You run the very real possibility of severe leak down that could detroy your engine, or having an injector mechanically fail and spew fuel all over the outside of your engine, or worse yet, lose a nozzle and possibly a needle/seat/pintle assembly into your pre-combustion chamber (bye-bye motor)!!

i have purchased a set of marine nozzles from diesel care and cannot find any info on how to rebuild the injector. I have done rebuilds on much larger injectors, it seems to me that you need more parts than just the nozzle like a crush washer at the very least. i have a bench tester to set the break or pop preasure but need shims and so on, i would like to hear what your seller has to say or any other info you get ahold of.

...have a "pop"tester just reuse springs and shims in your old injs...don't mix parts do em 1 at a time ck pop leak and pattern if there ok your in bizness..otherwise call buddy at pump shop{unless you're the buddy at pump shop}...good luck...BUT if you don't have right equip. have em rebuilt ...
