Cruise control

Does anyone know what controls the cruise on a 95 model. The cruise contol on my dually decided to stop working and I don't know where to begin. I want to think its mostly electrical since the accelerator pedal only has a wire harness hooked to it. I've already replaced the pedal to clear up some ses codes but I lost my cruise funtions way before that.

Has anyone ever attempted to replace the cruise on the sterring column?

I had to replace the multi function switch on the column but that was because the turn signals and 4 way flashers too a dive. Not a big job but is an expensive one. Got mine thru an ebay store and saved about 70% of the GMC cost. I'd do some touble shooting before swaping that out. To trouble shoot mine I borrowed one from my budies truck to confirm that it was the culprit.
