Hey Guys, I recently say an article about a NEW 6.5 TD. Its made by AM General and is supposed to support a rating of 250 HP stock. It is supposed to have a billet crank and a stronger head casting to eliminate cracking. The picture I saw indicates the turbo is up top in the middle. Any one else see this thing? Where do you get one? It just might replace the '599' block

Manufactured by GEP, the O 6500 is the next generation of our 6.5. it is a direct bolt in replacement for all 6.2/6.5 applications. It was improved to meet the increasing demands of the HMMWV. Some major improvements were: Using a compressed cast iron/moly alloy for increased strength and reduced weight, thicker main web/cylinder walls, splayed main bolts, improved crank casting, improved internal oiling and coolant passages, and extended external ribs for increased block stability, to name a few. It is designed to easily handle 300HP and 500+ lb/ft.

While the long block is pricey, if I was having to rebuild an engine for severe duty and longevity, I personally would go that route over a re-man.

Walt carries this longblock ssd-808, $6850.

Do you suppose this engine has the same new heads that Walt sells too? The ones I bought and haven't installed yet.
