I have the floor shifter and I can pull it into 4wd and the lights on the cover over the handle come on and show that it is in 4wd but it isn't in 4wd is it the actuator or is it the switch above the actuator on the front differential

The sure way to tell if it is the actuator is to take it out, but leave it hooked up then shift it into 4WD if the actuator is bad you wont see any movement. I thought mine was bad but it turned out to be an aftermarket light set the previous owner installed that was popping the fuse.

Thanks I will try that because I am not sure cause I don't want to spend the money on the actuator if it isn't the problem them things are expensive

also on other thing you might check. i just was reminded of a portion on the electrical harness that had fallen down and was laying on the exhaust manifold just under the turbo. I had to tape the wires up then stuff some ceramic fiber up in there to keep the wires seperated from the exhaust.

The original TLA is prone to failure. The best thing you can do to engage your 4WD is : http://www.4x4posi-lok.com/. I installed this in my truck and it work fine. 4WD if I need it !
