my wait to start light flashes after first started that mean glow plugs are needing changed

The glow plug light will cycle a few times (usually 3 or so depending on outside temp) after the engine is started. That is normal.

hi, my truck has not cycle a few times ( sometime one flash )after the engine is started...and is very hard starting! ..bad idles for 2-3 second :confused:
realy or glow plug??

Extra flashes depends on outside temp, mine rarely gives an extra one, outside temp 60°F. If your temp is much lower then the controler is the problem.

when my Gp light flashes it will dim my head lights and but out my radio does any one know why? is it normly or do i have a problem?

bad grounds or battery connections.

i had a 96 2500 with a 6.5 brand new and the glow plug light flashed along with the headlights,i now have a 98 and it does the same thing, i would say it is normal,

I noticed my headlights flashing right after i started the engine too. I too, think its normal.

thanks guys i guess i just never noticed it untill my truck started to start so hard the only thing i dont get is why my radio shuts off when the gp light flashes and the head lights dim

Bad batteries really mess with GM radios. Dad's Buick had a radio with a mind of its own 'till he changed the battery. Wife's suburban had a radio loose it's memory like the battery had been disconnected, but was not...
