hey all,
i'm about to clean all the carbon crap out of my upper intake and was wondering if i'll need an actual gasket when putting things back together....or if "gasket in a tube" stuff will work.
thanks.

id imagine since there isnt a whole lot of heat, and not much pressure (15 psi max :O) that silicone would work. when you pull it off, see what is already on there

I just put red silicone on mine and it's fine, no gaskets down here.

The few times I have had the top half off ( drill and tap ) my manifolds I have used the old gasket over with no problems. If you do tear, it replace it. If you must use RTV use it vary sparingly . You don't want any big goobers of the stuff going down the intake into the cylinders
