problems programing new ecm

Got home today from vacation and my new ecm from Walt had arrived!! I followed the directions in the box but i can not get it to learn the passlock code. I tryed starting the truck of course it dies and then waited with the ingition in the on possition for 10,15,20,25 minutes and the security light never goes off. I tryed several times with the same result every time!
What did i do wrong? any ideas what to try next?

Having an increasingly frequent problem - Security light blinks and truck won't start - I turn off the ignition, pull out key, wait 10-15 minutes, truck starts. The only recent work - new SS Diesel marine injectors installed 400 miles ago. I have had a Viper security system/keyless entry/remote starter for almost 2 years. No problems with that. I rarely if ever use the remote starter. just the keyless entry. Any ideas how to correct this new problem?

...sound rude but unplug all that security crap...it's 2...it's out of warrenty...go buy new system......what problem made you need a new ecm...you might still have other issues...have seen ecms replaced that were not the problem...just curious...
