Anyone ever done a remote oil filter on a 6.5? Also anyone removed an oil pan (for cleaning) from a 4x4 6.5?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike I had on on my truck and took it off all it did was leak around the stock filter area. I could never get it to stop leaking Other than access I cant see why you would want one...Just my opinion....Garth

Garth,

Thanks I guess it never occured to me that if the filter on there now leaks all the time the adapter will probably as well. Have you tried that kit walt has to stop the leak in the filter area Garth? Just wanted to get out from under the truck ya know..

Have a great new year Gath!

Garth,

When you replced the hoses are you speaking of the oil cooler hoses? If you weren't have you ever replaced them? I have a 4WD and they look like a bear to replace, I'd love to pull my pan too to clean it all out and replace the gasket but it too would be a bear with the front diff.

Thanks Garth,

Mike

Garth,

I see everyone talking about te #9 resistor, what is that? Is that something that came with the heat sink or different?

Thanks,

Mike

Mike go to ssdieselsupply.com and have a peek at the parts.
Walt has a great bunch of info and what each product will do for you..The resistor is extra with the heat-sync,
My hoses were leaking at the rad end I actually thought it was the front seal but was surprised when I took off the skid plate the seal is dry and all the oil was seeping from the hose connections. You have to take off the grill to get at the hoses but its really not that bad of a job,,Harder to find the hoses than to put them on.. Im not sure if Walt has them or not? When you replace them do the fitting on the block also.
These hoses have been known to fail with out warning and if it happens you will fry the engine before you even know what happened...Garth
