I'm looking at upgrading the air intake on my '94 K2500. However, because I do some casual off-roading I am worried about getting mud and/water into the intake because it does not have a box. Does anyone have any experience with this? I'd also like to know what kind of performance I'd gain from this upgrade. Thanks.

If you are going to upgrade the intake do the exhaust too no sense letting more air in if it cant get out. The ssdiesel 4 inch will do wonders for you.
As far as getting water in it maybe just build a water deflector under the intake. Its pretty well shielded any way ...Garth

I am going with the pre filter kit that goes over the filter, that will cut back on the dust from the dirt roads. As far as water, unless you are flying over puddles or streams....VERY hard to get water up that high.
