Is it hard to find parts for an american truck in Germany? Do you have to do alot of shopping online?

It depends on what part you need. Small things or things like filters for maintance aren't a prob. Big things like a hood, a topper, step bars or other big "parts" is a little bit difficult.
1. The are very expensive because of the shipping weight or space.
2. You have to wait about 2 to 8-10 weeks if the part have to be shipped directly from the US.
3. Some dealer think they call any price for parts, so i order the most thing on my own in the US, so i can save round about the half price of that what the dealer wants.
example :
I needed a Bed Extender. In Germany the want about 400 Euro for a Westin Bed Extender. I know at Eby.com they are sold for 180 US-$ (1.32 $ = 1 Eur).
I found a Softopper Bed Extender for 120 $ + 77 $ S&H = 197 $ ->150 Eur. Than i have to pay 3,5% at the customs plus tax so the endprice is 180 Eur for selfordering in th US. So I saved about 220 Eur, but i have to wait about 2,5 weeks for the extender. "If you got time and could wait, order in th US, if not buy in germany, but have have to pay much more."
4. Spent your holiday is the US and put the things you need in your luggage.
example :
In 2004 i've been for 2 weeks in florida. There i bouht my Roll'n-N-Lock Bed cover and i took it back home with the airplane. The only thing i have to pay was the amount of 70$ because it was bigger as the summary of length, wide and depth of 2,10 metres.

Yes, it was already here. There are a few dealers that import such trucks on their own. New and used. Mine came 1995 as a brandnew truck over the pond. Has been only for one week in Canada. The dealer sold it and after a few years the owner sold it back to the dealer and bought a new Duramax. Than i get it from this dealer. I'm the second owner now.
But until today it is not easy to buy a 6.5 or the other brands. If you want a "good and honest" one you have to search for a while. The most trucks are crap with millions of owner before, millions of miles and the condition of the trucks are often very bad.

I bought them from Ebay.DE. You should be able to get them at Ebay.COM also. This are complete parking lamps with clear glass. I converted the inner parking lamps to daytime running lamps like the newer silverados.

high torque :p
Don't know, where the problem should be. There are C 1500 with ONLY 5-lugs and the 6.5 TD in. There are K 1500 with 6-lugs and the 6.5 TD in. There are C/K 2500 LIGHT DUTY with 6-lugs and the 6.5TD in. There are C/K 2500 HEAVY DUTY with 8-lugs and there are also the C/K3500 with 8-lugs and the 6.5 TD in. WHERE SHOULD BE THE PROBLEM ? The torque of the engine is definitly NOT the problem.

your suburban is not badly labeled, all suburbans with the 6.5 have 8 lugs, whether its a 1500 or 2500, my moms suburban is a 1500 with the 6.5 and 8 lug wheels, the only difference between a 1500 and 2500 burb with the 6.5 is the gear ratios and rear axle, 1500s have 3.42 gears and a 9.5" 14 bolt and 2500s have either 3.73s or 4.10s and the 10.5" full float 14 bolt
