Replaced my PMD with SS Diesel unit 7/07 and gained about 1 mpg fuel improvement. Everthing was fine till last nite, driving along, sudden engine shut down. Attempted 3 restarts, no luck. Decided to check PMD installation, Bingo. Ground wire was broke right at base of crimp connector. Repaired and on my way. This was the first SS PMD I have installed, hope it is the last on this engine. I would advise using a different type of ground connection for anyone doing an install. Any suggestions?? This may be just a minor repair on a pick up, but on a van, removing the dog house to gain access is a major PITA!!

Yes, vans are a major PITA to work on. I "dropped" a 300 HP 4-bolt main 327 into my G 20 conversion van to replace the crapped out, wheezer 305 that was in it. Try more like swung/shoehorned it in by myself. Trying to bolt in the pass side tubular header was no joy, getting the spark plugs out or in for a tune up, even worse.
As for the ground terminal, very important to make sure there is no strain on it after installation, and that it doesn't "wrap" around the screw when tightening. Once it's installed, you should be able to forget about it. GM made the PMD harness and ground connector fairly stout, and I know that Walt only uses high quality components. You may have just had the one freak random "oops".
