    Signal comes from the alternator.

    Default wonky tach

checked connection, cleaned and hooked back up, tach is not functional, any other ideas besides cluster as possible culprit?

    thanks,

There is a module that drives it, probably with the one that drive the speedo, near the ECM. However, I have had connection problems to all of the gauges, where the instrument panel plugs in, bad contact. The instrument panel is easy to remove, a few screws, and it pulls out. It is the plug, crappy design, but that is all you get these days.
