Question 95 6.5 K3500 starts right up and then dies in a couple seconds,,,

Hello, I just bought a 95 6.5 K3500 dually. When cold starting it fires right up for a couple seconds then dies. It does this in 80 degree weather. I have to hold gas pedal part way down and crank on it a little while and it will start and run rough for a couple seconds then run fine. It runs fine on the road. Has new glow plugs and glow light stays on about the normal amount of time. I bled the fuel filter and it didn't have any air in it.

Anyone have any ideas on what to look at next?

Found out only 3 glow plugs were good. I don't know what the previous owner did but new AC 12g glow plugs were in it but 5 were junk and 3 were split open on the tip. Starts nice now.

Sometime or somehow maybe someone tried a jump start with a quick start off a battery charger. That will cook the glow plugs fast.
I have a 1997 horton 4X4 ambulance converted into a motor home. New hot glow plugs, remote PMD and cooler and air induction kit. New duramax fan and 180 degree thermostates. I also own two 99 suburbans.
