Either you wired it wrong, or your wiring is different from mine.

Would I mess up anything if I try wiring it to different corners of the fuel pump relay?

If that doesn't work, I will run wires to the dash and install a toggle switch.

Yes you could connect power to ground and get a problem. I think the problem is that the OPS is working, and sending power back to ignition. My OPS is not working, so that doesn't happen. I will think about a solution and get back to you.

The pump has no separate fuse that could be removed, so the alternatives are a separate switch, or cut one of the outer wires to the OPS plug.

I guess I'll work on rigging something up to a switch, thanks.

Work closed for snow and I finally have daylight to get to wiring the switch. I used a drill bit to "saw" a rough notch on each side of the fuse center cover so the wires wouldn't be pinched. I also wasn't sure whether I needed to ground the switch but I went ahead and did that since I had everything there to do it. Works very well and the truck is easier to start without so much extra cranking. Thanks very much Grancito for all the help and advice.
