Default My 96 K1500 with some minor mods.

Hello everyone. Small town southern Ontario toy tinkerer with my lastest toy. This is my first diesel and I must say, they are a good beginner model to learn on. I have had to replace the whole front suspension and rear shocks. The brakes front and back. The PMD is relocated outside the engine bay. Scheduled fluid changes including transmission. Many service parts on engine. Exhaust crossover and turbo back with 3" down and 4" back with high flow muffler, (nice sound).
Just finished shed the 3speed high idle mod and quite happy with results. Next I'm looking at some necessary gauges to monitor the extremes in case I would like to kick it up a notch. Plus I'm a gauge watcher. Lol.

Thank you Grant. Well I am now dealing with extreme cold temperatures, and no shelter to work on some new developments. Oil cooler lines are leaking, steering box pitman shaft seal is leaking, right side valve cover is leaking. Everything else seems to be holding on. She has almost 390k.

If you mean right side is passenger side valve cover, that is difficult to seal, but the drivers side can be sealed by pushing silicone in the edge, worked for me. The cooler lines leak at the engine, difficult to get at, but unscrew the fittings then pull the clip and replace the O-rings. Don't sue me for the seal leak cure if it goes wrong, put a small amount of lacquer thinner in the steering oil, it will soften the seal. Better idea, done this, wrap a piece of rag around the pitman arm soaked with thinner.
