Default Fsd Cooler Installed!!! Questions About Rpm Gauge.

Hello all. Today the UPS man delivered my FSD cooler that I ordered from Walter. Installed it and it looks great and works great. Connected a spring to my wastegate actuator arm and was a able to create enough booste that my truck does not smoke anymore. I am really amazed at how much power my truck has that I never knew about. Now my Wastegate code 78 is not coming on when going down the highway!! So needless to say I am a very happy man! I have ordered the Booste gauge and will not be useing the truck until I install it so that I can make sure that I do not Over boost.

While driving down the highwway at 65mph with cruise control set on, my RPM gauge started going crazy. Then all of a sudden it just quit all together. I am asuming if it has a cable it snapped. Can anyone shed some light as to what is required to fixing that gauge. Would it be easier and cheaper to just by and install aftermarket gauge?

Hey that's great that the new parts are working out, your RPM guage gets it's signal from the alternator, check your wiring, plug that is into the alternator, it's connection is through the regulator (inside the alternator) could be regulator problem, or many other places. Somewhere to start.

Ahh dude its 1:40am here but as soon as i read your post, i had to go and check. Sure enough when i got in there to install the heat sink, I must have pulled the wire. When i opened my hood, it was off. I plugged it in and turned on truck at gauge is working fine. THANK YOU SO MUCH....That was an easy fix!! Damm i love this site and all the support i get from everyone here!!!

That' really good you're getting things fixed, but don't stuff it up by putting the PMD on the manifold.

Default Where in trhe bumper should I install it?

Grant can you tell me where in the bumper and will i have to drill holes? How about water damage? Seems like we get alot of flooding here and high water, if in the bumper area might be prone to get wet when I drive through high water. Possibly if you have picture of your setup could you email me.

click on the picture of my truck, you will see it in the bumper hole, and click search "PMD relocation" it has a detailed proceedure, failing that I'll email it to you. Someone else tested this position in wet conditions and is ok, to short cut it you drill the holes in the upper back down-turn of the bumper, as low as posible, they wont appear through the plastic piece behind, but make them with the heatsync in place and high on the heatsync, to it's top edge.

here is another thought, I can't remember who made it, but he will post, called "PMD grill mount" he put the PMD high mid grill passenger side, but I had no room to put mine there because of an added trans oil cooler.
